Is my middle or high schooler in “The Dip”?

Look for these 4 things to know:

  1. 6-8 weeks into the semester parents notice that things are falling apart.
  2. A mountain of missing work, zeroes, incompletes and late work emerges.
  3. Grades take a nosedive.
  4. Your child procrastinates & resists taking action that would get results, and you’re at your wit’s end.

What do parents need to know if they want to help?

Why don’t these work?

Because they are based on the WRONG assumptions. The misconceptions sound like this, “You need to try harder. I know you can do it, I’ve seen you do it. You’re being lazy. You just need to motivate yourself. You need to decide it’s important and apply yourself more. You need to be more disciplined. You just don’t care enough about school.”

IT’S NOT ABOUT TRYING HARDER.

IT’S ABOUT EXECUTIVE FUNCTION.

Then what works Seth?

How do we know if we are ready?

About The DIP Day Workshop

How does it work?

  1. Sign up with the link below.
  2. I email you the special links so you can join us live on March 7th.
  3. Block out the entire day on your calendar.
  4. Show up online and I will walk you step by step through the entire process, WHILE positively addressing the resistance your child will experience throughout this entire process.
  5. By the end of this day, you will all be pretty tired, but this is good because you will have taken the actions to get out of The DIP and you will have built a better relationship with your child and you will have tools to address these problems in the future.

If you and your child are willing to dedicate an entire day to working on this problem, you will see results!

Who is this NOT for?

You have to be honest with yourself. If your child does not have any real buy-in and is not ready to be realistic about their challenges, or if there is a lot of family conflict, tension, avoidance, emotional disconnect, this will not work for you. In fact, it may make your relationship worse to force them if they are not ready. At this point, you probably have other foundational issues to address before your child is ready to accept executive function help.

Is there a guarantee?
