Hey, what’s up? Everybody? Except. Bro., Hope you’re doing well here. I got a little video here for students your middle school or high school or college. This is for you. So at the end of the school year right now and there was a few things going on. I’m going to give you eight tips for how to end the school year better. So basically I I work with middle school high school and college students in terms of helping them navigate to and this is what I’ve been doing a lot with my student Lily. One is that I’m helping them get organized. So if you’re not organized if you’re not great at time management, if you’re not good at checking your email, if you’re not going to email your teachers, if you’re not good at that stuff ask your parents ask somebody whoever you want. Ask them to help you. There’s nothing wrong with that. In fact be most successful people on earth. Sorry, I didn’t have my my clothes me the most successful people on Earth. Ask for help. Okay, so ask for help with organization checking your portal email your teachers advocating for yourself getting Clarity regarding what’s going on because there’s a lot of confusion a lot of things. I work with are confused about what in the heck is this teacher asked me to do I don’t get it. I always seem to be messing up in this class. I’m trying to do the teachers asked me but I I don’t understand so get clarity at the MLB number to I want you to block or chunk off your Timeline. As soon as I work with think that they can do homework like 10 minutes at a time 15 minutes at a time. They make these small chunks and then they take a break and what do you think happens when they take break or when they take a break to get wavy RaeLynn? It’s so hard to get back on track to go during video game of social media or hang out with friends. Whatever. It’s so hard to get back on track what you want to do. If you want to be successful the end of the school year is block off large chunks of time. So when you do your homework here and want to sit down for 30 45 minutes an hour on weekends. You might want to sit down for 2 3 4 hours now. I’m not talking super intense Focus like ridiculous like Work like that that’s annoying and that’s super intense. Although there are times to do that. You don’t have to I’m not saying it’s been 4 hours every weekend doing it but block out large blocks of time so you can do your work. Okay, do not think that you’re going to work on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. And then 3 to 4 a.m. With 3 to 4 p.m. And then 7 to 8 p.m. Like it’s not realistic. It’s not what my students do. So just be real real. It’s a good sub number 3 know about emotion regulation. You’re going to be resistant to doing anything you’re going to be resistance using planner. You can be resistant to lighten your parents help you you’re going to be resistant to ask your teacher for help. You’re going to be resistant to going on the portal and check me out. Your grades are going to be resisting to reading directions thoroughly that resistance is there that’s the part of it was called emotional regulation. Your emotions are like now that I’m cool with that doesn’t seem fun. So you resist. Okay, that’s an emotional thing is so learn to sword. Hear the dialogue in your head when your head is like no, I don’t feel like it. I don’t want you to stupid. I don’t care learn to hear that dialogue in your head and learn to just do it. Anyway, take the action anyway and just make it feel small just do little tiny baby steps and get your momentum going next. I want explain pepper to you at the end of the school year you got for big things going on that I call a pepper. So what happens is that you have this little pattern one is it that you’re doing makeup work from early in the semester to is that you have current work in three is is that at the end of the school year you have big end-of-the-year stuff. Most people don’t realize this pattern and then it blindsides if I don’t want it to Blindside you so know this is coming out that pepper pattern at the end of the year are there for big giant things that come up on people and really affect them that negatively those are papers exams projects and large reading assignment. So usually at the end of the year, there’s a whole mess of stuff people wait till the last minute and then they fail so because they didn’t get it done. They didn’t start on time or they slap sit together last minute. So you want to be aware of this pattern and block out your time. Like I said was chunking earlier. Next strategize consciously, so I want you to really think about what do I have to do for the end of the year and plan it out write a whole big list use a big giant calendar. I don’t care. I know you’re going to resist you don’t want to do my students don’t want to do it. But when they do it, it feels so much better. They have a much better idea of what they have to do. You have to get it out of here do not depend on its uses for creativity for fun for conversation for daydreaming things like that. Don’t use this to memorize the things that need to be done. Stop doing that. It doesn’t work. Trust me. This is what I do next. You have to have your own buying as to why this is important. Okay, your parents are saying don’t you realize school is important in your teacher saying you need to care more and all this stopping you feeling like all I’m just lazy and all these stories that are going on. Look here is the buy-in you got to have number one education is the key it in fact your education will help you in your life, even if you like. What am I ever going to use calculus while you know, what you mean never use calculus, but the mathematical thinking logical thinking you will be using and education learning as much as you can moving yourself forward as much as you can that is the key to being able to do anything you want in life. If you can’t figure out how to navigate educate education you are going to struggle as an adult be able to do what you want to do. So I know that there are things that you don’t want to do in school. I know there’s things that don’t make sense teachers that you really don’t resonate with homework that just as does seem mean listen to But do your best anyhow, get as much as you can from it for you not for your parents not for your teachers for you that education is the key you want to have as much of a master key to Life Is Possible and the better education get the more they’re going to get out. Of course, you can get educated outside of school also with your own research and learning and and experiences and stuff as much as you can from school, even though you’re going to resist a lot of stuff in school next. The final thing is kind of cool but it is is that I want you to plan fun when you did Planet think of this weekend. I’m going to do this on Saturday night in this on Sunday afternoon Planet don’t just randomly do it like plan it reward yourself plan fun. You do need to have fun. You should not be studying all the time. There’s no point to that talk with life is about but you need to plan and fun reward yourself. Enjoy it do things that you need to do for you to do things that enrich your life. Do things that matter to you do things that you’re passionate about that you’re curious about that you’re interested in take time for those things. Definitely plan them in. I’m not saying don’t do that. You should do that. That is what life is a couch is things that matter so definitely be planning those in and finally the last thing I can tell you is that all the things they just told you do them in combination that you don’t have to any of them. Just do little bit of each of them. That’s where the success comes from. There’s no affection with this. Just try all these strategies. All right you have maybe six or so weeks left of the school year and you’re off for the summer. So go ahead and do that final push do the 1% rule. Just keep pushing yourself. Take care.
