Join Executive Function Lab
Get clear tools to help struggling students become organized, confident, independent, and less resistant to using the tools they need.
It’s really disheartening when we find ourselves spinning our wheels trying to help a child, but watch the same downward spiral continue.
We try so many things to help our kids get unstuck, and we just need clear solutions.
I created Executive Function Lab to help you save time and energy by giving you tools that actually work, that I’ve developed over decades in the trenches with kids.
You see, helping a Struggling Student is all about building Executive Function skills, which is the #1 most important concept adults “should” understand, but don’t, because few people teach it well.
EF-Lab gives you my clear step-by-step strategies that lead to wins, and long term results, so you feel confident that your child is getting what they need.
EF-Lab is designed for parents, teachers and coaches of kids with challenges with motivation, attention, realistic planning, self-regulation, including ADHD, 2e, anxiety, and school resistance.
Help your neurodivergent child become more organized, less resistant to using the tools they need, and more independent – without constant conflicts or burnout.

Workshop for Parents, Coaches, Teachers: How to Backwards Plan - $129
Backwards planning is one of the most important Executive Function skills for managing long-term projects, deadlines, reading assignments, and major responsibilities without last-minute panic. Includes printable planning resources to help students apply the system in real life.
"How to Plan A Summer That's Fun AND That Prepares You For A Great Fall" Workshop - $79
Summer can either become a time to lose routines completely or a valuable opportunity to strengthen Executive Function skills in low-pressure, real-life ways. In this workshop, parents learn how to create a summer that balances fun, freedom, and growth while also preparing students for a smoother transition back to school. Topics include building EF skills naturally during summer activities, recognizing teachable moments, and reestablishing healthy routines before the school year begins.
Homework & Study Hacks Workshop - $159
Homework and studying can become exhausting and frustrating when students struggle with Executive Function skills, focus, motivation, sleep, or follow-through. In this workshop, families learn practical homework routines, study strategies, timer techniques, distraction-reduction tools, and accountability supports that help students work more effectively and with less overwhelm. Many students hit a predictable mid-semester “DIP” where motivation drops, missing work piles up, stress increases, and Executive Function challenges become more visible. In this workshop, parents and students learn how to recognize the DIP pattern early, create a realistic recovery plan, simplify overwhelm, and communicate more effectively with teachers. Includes practical tools like a DIP checklist, recovery strategies, and a teacher email template to help students get clarity, get caught up, and regain momentum before things spiral further.
Masterclass: Resets- why they matter, how to do them - $179
Students with Executive Function challenges often need regular “resets” to prevent systems from slowly breaking down over time. In this masterclass, families learn practical ways to reset important school and life systems, including study spaces, calendars, organization habits, accountability routines, and cluttered environments. The lessons also explore why stressful seasons like the holidays can throw students off track — and how proactive resets can help students regain clarity, structure, and momentum before overwhelm takes over.
Mini-Workshop: How We Misunderstand Consequences - $39
Parents often hear that kids simply “need consequences,” but supporting students with Executive Function challenges is usually much more nuanced than that. In this mini-workshop, we explore the difference between punishment and effective natural consequences, when consequences actually help, and how to approach accountability in ways that build learning instead of increasing shame, conflict, or resistance. Includes Q&A discussions about natural consequences and what to do when parents are not aligned on discipline approaches.
Workshop: How to Help Your Child Finish the Semester Strong and Prep for Spring - $99
The end of the semester is often when Executive Function challenges become most visible - assignments slip through the cracks, time blindness increases stress, and students can quickly fall behind without realizing it. In this workshop, parents learn proactive strategies to help students finish the semester successfully, stay on top of missing work, manage assignment lists, and reduce last-minute surprises before winter break. Includes practical tools, planning strategies, and a “Finish Strong” checklist designed to help families end the semester with less stress and more confidence moving into spring.

Why Did I Create EF-Lab?
I’ve been helping kids and families for decades, and I’ve learned what works.
I also know what doesn’t work, and have seen far too many kids struggle for too long because they remained misunderstood.
These kids are often mislabeled: Lazy, unmotivated, procrastinator, you just need to try harder, you’re making everything so difficult, you’ve got so much potential, etc..
Well-intended adults often try to “motivate” these kids with lectures, punishments, consequences, rewards, using logic and reason to get them to see the light, etc.
But these approaches don’t give kids the Executive Function Skills they need.
Helping kids create real change is not quick and easy. It takes understanding strategies that work, time, empathy, compassion, patience, and persistence.
So that’s what we do in EF-Lab. I give you a methodology that accelerates progress, and you get a community of caring people who help each other get clear about how to actually help!

Who is Seth Perler?
I’m Seth, recovering “lazy failure” of a student, and former teacher turned Executive Function Expert Nerd.
I help misunderstood kids learn how awesome they are, while creating breakthroughs to help change their trajectory… for good (even if they seem completely stuck).
For 16 years I’ve been teaching parents + educators how to use my non-traditional, yet practical methods to help kids boost Executive Function.
And I get it firsthand because I’ve been there myself (read my story), and have helped thousands learn what works, despite all the outdated educational fluff out there.
