Parents, teachers, ADHD coaches, time blindness is a real thing!
So HOW do you understand it so you can help students become better at managing time? In this video I’ll break it down for you.
I’m Seth Perler and I want a world where education gives ALL kids, including outside-the-box learners, the tools to build a good future.
Education should empower learners to not only have great lives, but also to contribute in personally meaningful ways. Let’s do this right.
Here’s the UpGrade Your Grades Fall 2018 Program
for students who struggle with grades, homework, focus, planning, organization, time management, school stress and overwhelm, etc..
In this video I’ll to talk about PEPPER.
Parents and teachers, this is important because things can fall apart very quickly at the end of the school year.
Sometimes I work with parents who are extremely organized. Their executive functioning is exceptional, and they genuinely cannot understand why their child struggles so much. They’re baffled.
But I also work with parents and teachers who struggle with executive function themselves. They wonder:
“How do I help my child when I’m struggling with the exact same things?”
So I’m going to share ten quick ideas.
Unfortunately, many students are misunderstood and seen as being willful when there’s something else going on beneath the surface. This causes a lot of unnecessary suffering.
Here we look at countless influences that often go unnoticed, therefore perpetuating misunderstandings on the part of adults and causing students to feel shamed.
Students, today I have a word of advice for you. In fact, it’s one of the most important pieces of advice I could give anybody, anywhere, at any time.
That advice is this: be very selective about who you surround yourself with.
Often parents see repeating patterns, have a BIG talk with their child, and then make the mistake of thinking that the talk was enough to make the difference. The reality is that the patterns almost always continue to repeat until the RIGHT executive function support is given. So why do parents and students keep repeating the pattern instead of building in the right support? This video explores this topic.
Parents often ask this question, but you’re probably trying to ask another question. This vlog explores this issue.
One of the biggest things that interfere with overall executive function is clutter! Physical stuff clutter, mental clutter, digital clutter. So decluttering, downsizing, minimizing is one of the BEST ways you can help students start the year off right.
